Eligibility for Applying for Australia Visa

 

  • Holding a Passport with a validity of 6 months on arrival in Australia.

  • Once you start the application on the Australian Immigration Website you must be aware of the category to be selected. Tourist Category comes under Visitor Visa – Subclass 600 this includes visiting family & friends & for tourism purposes.

 

  • The application form will have your details, employment details, family details, finance details, travel plans, and inviter’s details if any.

 

  • Unlike New Zealand, Australia will have separate applications for every traveler including minor if any.

  • Once the entire online application form is completed you will be required to upload all the scanned documents. On submission of the form, you will be guided to the payment page.   • If needed you can upload any other required document with your application through the Australian Immigration website on your profile page

 

  • Normal Processing time for the application is between 18 -25 days. Visa received will be an E-Visa on your registered mail id. You can also log in to your profile and get the visa copy there.

  • Australia Visa is an online process applied to the Australia Immigration website by creating the profile.

1. When Can I Apply For An Australia Visitor Visa?
You can apply at least 90 days before your intended travel date.
2. What Will Be The Period Of Stay While Holding A Visitor Visa In Australia?
The stay period is normally for 3 months or else as mentioned on the visa which needs to be strictly followed.
3. Do I Need To Issue Travel Insurance While Applying For A Visa?
No, Travel Insurance is not required for applying for a visa however, it is advisable to issue travel insurance before traveling.
4. Do I Need To Have Confirmed Air Tickets And Hotel Bookings For Australia While Applying For The Visa?
No, Air Tickets and Hotel Accommodation is not required to be booked until you receive the visa. However, if you plan to book make sure to have refundable bookings.
5. If My Australia Visit Visa Gets Rejected Can I Reapply?

7. Do I Need To Take Any Medical Tests Before Traveling To Australia?
No, Medical tests are not mandatory to be done before traveling. However, if your stay period in Australia is more than 3 months you need to do the medical tests as prescribed by the consulate. For medical tests, a mail will be sent on the registered mail id from the immigration department mentioning the medical tests required and the Hospitals where it can be done. While visiting the hospital you need to carry the original passport, & Xerox of the passport, payment receipt and medical test paper which was received through the mail. All the reports will be directly submitted by the hospital to the Immigration department processing the visa. Your visa processing will start only after your medical test reports are submitted. You need to have a prior appointment before visiting the hospital.
8. Is There Any Express Service Available For The Australia Visa?
Yes, there is an express service available for the Australian Visitor Visa. The charges for the same is approximately INR 62,000/-

How to check the online status of the Australian Application?

  • On completion of the entire online process, you need to check the status after around 17 days by logging into your profile. Immigration also intimates with the visa copy on the registered Mail ID. A Visa copy will be an E-Visa that needs to printed while traveling.
