Viper Island belongs to the South Andaman district of Andaman And Nicobar Island. This small island was once the jail where the British used to imprison political prisoners. The Cellular Jail was constructed in 1906 after which this jail was abandoned.

Between October and March is the best time to visit this island as there is minimum fluctuation in the temperature and the weather is quite pleasant & bright. It is highly recommended to avoid this tour in the monsoon because of the strong winds, high tides & incessant rains.
