Australia work visa category is divided into 4 subclasses:
TEMPORARY WORK VISA – SUBCLASS 400
- This category allows people of highly specialized skills & knowledge which is not to be found in Australia.
- People who are granted this visa can only do work or activity related to this visa.
- You can be granted a visa for up to 6 months or on the circumstances of the work the applicant will be carrying out in Australia.
- The stay period is normally of 3 months but if the applicant requires to stay more than the stipulated time, the Applicant must hold a strong case to continue staying for 6 months.
CONDITIONS FOR SUBCLASS 400
- You are allowed to work only for a particular employer or specific activities with this visa.
- You cannot change the job, work for someone else or yourself.
- You must hold an agreement or license or registration if it is necessary to perform the work you are nominated for.
- If you stop working for the employer for which the visa was granted you may have to leave Australia or apply for a new visa according to the circumstances.
Documents required for Australia Work for Indians – SUB CLASS 400
- Passport
- Photo
- Letter of Invitation – position, duration of work, the reason for employment, employment conditions, and wages all these must be included
- Job offer letter
- Employment contract
- Evidence proving financial status
- Police Certificate
- Form 956 A
- Any other documents if applicable
This will be an online process. The form must be completed online on the Immigration website and upload all the required documents. Once submission of the form and uploading of documents is done you need to make the payment.
Wait for the outcome of the visa. Granted visa will have Visa Grant Number, Visa start date, and Visa conditions.
Processing time for the visa will be 11 -16 days and the charges will be of AUD 310.
Temporary Activity Visa – Subclass 408
- This visa allows you to take part in a special program that includes community programs, entertainment activities, sports activities, religious work, social & cultural activities, and research activities.
- You must have the relevant skills to undertake the activity in Australia.
- You can work in films or television for the entertainment industry.
- You can observe or take part in a research program.
- You can take part in the community-based event in Australia.
- You can play, instruct, do high-level sporting with the Australian Organization.
- The validity of the visa depends on the duration of the activity to be carried out while in Australia.
Conditions for Subclass 408
- You must be sponsored or supported for the activity you will be carrying out in Australia.
- You need to apply for this visa while in Australia or outside Australia but not during Immigration clearance.
- You must hold a valid contract or proof of your engagement in the activity.
- You must hold enough funds to support yourself while in Australia.
