New Zealand Tourist Visa: Tourist visa is also called a visitor visa.  a tourist visa is used for touring the country. Living with friends and family.

You can enjoy the adventure, culture, beaches, foods and lots of wine. You can live for up to 9 months.

In these nine months, you can also study for 3 months. With the visitor visa, you can attend interviews and also look for a job but you cannot start working on a visitor visa for that you need to apply for a work visa before starting to work.

There are some criteria for New Zealand Tourist Visa you must fit in. your passport must be valid for 6 months before you leave the country. You need to prove you have enough amount to stay in New Zealand.

If you are holding a New Zealand or Australian citizenship, UK citizenship or passport holder then you do not need a New Zealand visa.

if you do not hold any of this citizenship that mention then you need to apply for the visa. if you have an electronic or biometric passport,  and you are above 12 years old you can apply for New Zealand Custom eGate visa.

eGate visa is used for the completion of your Custom and Immigration checks faster. On visitor visa, you can add dependent partners as well as children below 19 years on the visa application form.

New Zealand Tourist / Visitor Visa Fees For Indians

Group visitor visa.  A group visitor visa is for those who want to visit New Zealand in a group or the trip is organized by a travel agent. They must have the same purpose of visiting the country along with the travel arrangements then they can apply for the New Zealand Group Visitor Visa.

With this visa, you cannot work in New Zealand and you need to exit New Zealand before the visa expires. In this visa, the group leader needs to complete the group visa details while others need to fill up the visitor visa form.

This visa is valid for a month. All the group members should enter and exit the country together. Except for the group leader’s documents all the other applicants need to submit the same document as per the visitor visa.

New Zealand business Visa: Business visa is used for visiting New Zealand for business purposes like to invest in the business, to start-up, to attend the meeting, conferences, and many other things. There are 2 major types of business visas in New Zealand.

  1. Short- term business visa
  2. Long-term business visa 
  • Short- term business visa: people who are sales representatives, a businessman who wants to attend business meetings and conferences, or overseas buyers come in this visa category, and to apply for this visa you need to apply for a standard visitor visa. The validation for this visa is up to three months, but in these three months, you are not allowed to take any employment role.
  • Long-term business visa: experienced businessmen who tend to invest in New Zealand or the entrepreneurs who also want to start their business in the country so they fall in this visa type. Long-term business visa has more types in it.
  • The entrepreneur work visa
  • The investor plus visa
  • The investor visa 
  • The investor plus visa: this visa is also known as the investor 1 category visa. this visa is for the investors who want to reside in New Zealand. To get The investor plus visa the businessman needs to invest at least 10 million $NZ or more than for 3 years that then you lie in this category. There are no age requirements,  not necessarily to know English, and do not need business experience but the most important requirement is you should have 10 million NZ dollars and you should spend at least 46 days for 2 years or 88 days of the 3 years investment period. 
  • The investor visa: this visa is known as the investor 2 category visa. this visa is also for the investors who want to reside in New Zealand but to get this The investor visa you do not need to invest 10 million or above that, you can invest 3 million NZ $ for 4 years to apply for this visa category. The age limit for this visa category is not above 65 years. You should stay at least 146 days for 3 years or 438 days of 4 years of investment.

New Zealand Student Visa: the students who are willing to study abroad for them New Zealand has introduced a student visa for them. From a certificate course to a postgraduate course, New Zealand provides every facility for students.

There is a total of eight academic program universities. For the undergraduate students, universities offer subjects like masters and Ph.D., degrees in commerce, science, and humanities and some universities also offers specialized field like agriculture, medicine, etc.

In the Maori language, it also offers courses like teaching, nursing, business, health, etc. There are also some private institutions as well as an English language school.

Around 600 registered private training establishments (Pte) are these PTE courses are all in English language learning or some specific occupation like tourism, design, ICT, etc.

New Zealand Permanent resident Visa: if you are living in New Zealand for 2 years with a resident visa then you can apply for a New Zealand Permanent resident Visa. 

Once your request for a permanent visa is approved you can live permanently in New Zealand. With this visa, you can study as well as work in the country without restriction. You can bring your family along with you but only if you have mentioned them in the resident visa earlier.

Whenever to can want to travel from New Zealand, you can without any formalities. If you want to travel then your permanent visa should be an invalid passport. For that, you need to transfer your visa into a passport.  If your request for New Zealand Permanent resident Visa rejected you might get another resident visa or other travel facility.

There are some criteria to apply for this visa. your character should be clean, no police records, you must hold a resident visa for at least 24 months to get a permanent visa. you need to invest some amount of money in New Zealand. You need to commit to living in New Zealand.

Process of New Zealand Visa

While visiting the center we need to carry Original Passports and Xerox of all the pages of the current Passport with the Thank You letter & payment receipt which are generated once the application is submitted online.

While visiting the center you do not need to make an appointment and need to visit in 2 -3 days once the application is submitted online as after your visit to the VAC center Consulate will start the visa process.

At the center, you are required to pay the fee of INR 722. Once the representative at the VAC collects the Xerox of Passport, scans the Passport, and collects the payment you will receive the Passport immediately the same day. You just need to wait for half an hour to get your passport collected till they complete the process.

New Zealand Visa Rejection

While applying for the visa it becomes very much necessary to get all the documents are per the checklist. If the documents are submitted in proper order and as per checklist chances of the visa rejection are very less if you can prove the purpose of the visit and will return before the visa expires.  Points which can lead to rejection are:

  • Passport not having the validity of 6 months on arrival in New Zealand.
  • Incomplete forms or invalid details in the form
  • Incomplete or Invalid documents
  • Documents having Passwords
  • Photo not as per the specification
  • Insufficient funds.
  • Unable to prove the exit from New Zealand.

Points to Remember

  • Documents uploaded must be true & correct. Irrelevant or Misleading documents may lead to rejection of the visa.
  • All the documents uploaded must be password free.
  • Air Tickets & Hotel Accommodation is not a mandatory document for applying for the visa. You can book it once you receive the visa.
  • You need to prove your social & economic ties in your home country and that you will return before your visa expires.
  • You can apply for the visa 90 days before your intended travel date.
