A Complete Guide on How to Apply for the Ballot from India
Are you an Indian citizen aged 18-30 dreaming of living and working in the UK? The UK Youth Mobility Scheme visa could be your golden ticket! In this comprehensive guide, we'll walk you through the ballot system, application process, and what to expect if you're selected or not.
What is the Youth Mobility Scheme Visa Ballot?
The ballot is a random draw that determines who can apply for the limited 35,000 places available for this visa in 2024. You can only enter once per year, so make sure you're ready to apply if you're selected.
How to Enter the Ballot
To enter the ballot, simply send an email to india.youngprofessionals@fco.gov.uk with your name, date of birth, passport details, phone number, and email address. The email must be in English with the subject line in the correct format.
If you're successful in the ballot, you'll receive an email within 2 weeks. You'll then have 30 days to apply for the visa online, pay the fees, and provide your biometric information. If your application is approved, you'll have 90 days to enter the UK and your visa will be valid for 2 years.
The annual quota for the UK Youth Mobility Visa has been increased to 35,000 places, and the list of participating countries has been updated. The application process has been streamlined with a new online portal, and the visa fee has been adjusted to £456.
