The iconic Louvre is a universal museum located on the Saadiyat Island Cultural District. It is the largest Arabian Museum spread over 24,000sq m having 8000sq m of galleries in itself. It is a collection of artworks from all over the world and it bridges the back between the East and West.
The architect is Jean Nouvel and It was inaugurated on 11th November 2017 by the French President Emmanuel Macron and United Arab Emirates Vice President Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum along with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the museum is a part of a thirty year agreement between the French Government and Abu Dhabi city.
The Louvre showcases paintings and artworks from all over the world made by famous painters and art creators. Some of them include Leonardo da Vinci’s La Belle Feronniere and a self -portrait by Vincent van Gogh. The museum also shares it collection by hosting exhibitions. Once you arrive here, you are guided through different periods and civilizations in a chronological order. It has an all-encompassing collection from all across the world including a dancing Shiva from India and other regions as well.
