Singapore zoo is a magnanimous zoo with around 2800 animals and 300 different species altogether. This wondrous ecological experience allows you to take a good look at the lifestyle of different species from the rainforest and tropical areas. World-famous and renowned, this zoo follows an Open Concept where wildlife is conserved and breeding programs are held at an international level making it a rare wildlife conservation center. The Zoo, River Safari, Jurong Bird Park, and Night Safari are all a part of the park. This is an ideal place for all animal and nature lovers.
This paradise of nature is spread across 28hectares of land. You will get to see animals like white tigers, lions, Malay tapirs, elephants, orangutans, zebras, etc. There are reptiles, birds, and mammals to see here as well. A large percentage of these animals are also threatened. It is good to see that the animals here are kept in their natural and spacious habitats.
The Zoo has a large orangutan colony. You get to take photos up close with the orangutans and indulge in animal feeding sessions. Also partake of the rides and in house shows like animal-friendly shows, buggy tour, splash safari, the circle of life tour, elephant presentation show, etc. and create a good bond with the animals. You could purchase a pass to have breakfast with the orangutans which is somewhat a specialty here. You could either use a tram or tread on foot throughout the zoo. The team has a live commentary during the entire ride.
Visit anytime between 8:30 am-6 pm on weekdays as weekends get super crowded. Morning slots are the best time before the crowd comes in. The best months to come to the zoo are February and April when the climate is less hot and it does not rain much. It takes 2-3 hours to cover every part of the Zoo.
There are many admission passes to choose from having their special activities to do with different price ranges. Book tickets online to avoid long queues. There are bus services available to the Zoo. There are even transfers available from your designated point to the Zoo and back. Prams and wagons are available for rent if you have small babies with you.
Carry hats and water bottles as it gets extremely hot. Outside food is allowed in the Zoo. Carry swimwear for the kids if they want to visit the Rainforest Kidzworld in the zoo which is a water play area for them. The entire park has free Wifi.
There are in house cafes and restaurants to dine at as well as souvenir shops to buy souvenirs and toys to keep the memories of your visit to the Zoo. Click plenty of pictures to keep memories but make sure to avoid keeping your flash on your camera or phone especially in the night safari as it scares the animals. Animal shows, feeding sessions, and tram rides are all-inclusive in your one-time ticket.
Escape from the crazy city life and visit this natural world right here in Singapore Zoo.
