What it’s Like to Be in The Kangaroo Land – Australia Tour

I work at a renowned MNC. My life is pretty much similar to what a stereotype life of every corporate guy looks like. Working hard every day, looking forward to the weekend, always thinking about promotion and being obedient to our bosses. This is the cliché tag that our society labels every corporate guy with. And at times, honestly, even I feel the society is not wrong. Even though this can be a big topic for debate, I kind of seem uninterested.

I have a good job (although a little stressful), a good family and a pretty cool group of my office mates. Our group of office colleagues share a very good bond with each other. We have family get-together, we go for picnics, participate in various social functions and try to maintain a good work-life balance.

The highlight among these is that every year we all go together for a vacation with our families. We are following this so-called ritual of going on a vacation together almost since past 5 years. And this year was also not different. This year we went to the Land of Kangaroos, Australia. Fasten your seatbelts peeps, as I take you through the whole of my Australian tour in the coming lines.

So we started with getting our Australia Tourist Visa done. Australia tourist visa for Indians is very simple. We got our visa in 12 days approximately. We required documents like scanned copy of passport with validity of 6 months, photograph with white background, signed application form, covering letter, three year income tax returns, employment proof etc. We also prepared a schedule for the destinations we will visit.

We started with Sydney first. The first place we visited in Sydney was Sydney Opera House. An architectural beauty, Sydney Opera House attracts a huge number of tourists every year. We did not go inside but from outside we made we take a lot of photographs. We also took the Sydney-Harbour cruise which is very popular amongst tourists.

From the cruise, we got a beautiful view of the Sydney Harbour bridge. The Sydney-Harbour Bridge is also called as/ nicknamed as ‘coat hanger’. We took a guided expedition tour (special climbing is not required) to reach the top of Sydney-Harbour Bridge at about 440 meters. From thVisaere we got a mind-boggling view of the city. Then we explored the Manly Beach. We took a boat ride to reach the Manly Beach. During the boat ride, we got a stunning view of the Sydney Opera house and the Sydney harbor bridge. At Manly beach, we did surfing which is very popular there.

We also walked down the Corso, which is another famous tourist spot. We also visited a place called as ‘The Rocks’. It is the place where Europeans first settled in 18th century. Today, it attracts many tourists to have a glimpse of what this place looks like. We did some shopping in the famous Queen Victoria building.

It is well known for its architectural beauty of the 19^th century. Besides Manly beach, we also went to a couple of other beaches, as Sydney is well known for its beaches. We went to a couple of other beaches like Bondi Beach, Cronulla beach and Bronte beach. We also came across a place called ‘Chinatown’ which is famous for authentic Chinese & other Asian food, as well as the various Chinese shops. We also visited the Madame Tussauds to witness the statues of our favourite stars.

After spending a great time at Sydney, we headed to Gold Coast, Queensland. We spent a day lazing around the beach. Swimming and soaking in the Sun, we had a laid back day at the beach. We visited other wonderful places like Warner Bros Movie world, Lamington National Park, Surfers Paradise Beach.

We also went to Cavill Avenue for shopping and exploring various eateries. We also visited the Sea World which is a marine theme park in Gold Coast. We saw the Thunder lake stunt show, which is a power packed stunt show, after that we went for dolphin family adventure where we got a chance to interact with the dolphins and their trainer. We also got to see the shark bay, where we could see the shark and other marine life forms.

After doing that, we headed to Melbourne. We all are cricket lovers, so it only made sense to visit Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The MCG in Melbourne, is the largest stadium in Australia, this ground hosts cricket matches. The boxing day test match is played here every year.  Another place worth visiting was the Melbourne Museum, where we witnessed the great Australian culture and heritage. Yarra River cruise is another amazing thing to do in Melbourne.

We took the cruise up to the Herring Island and Como House. The cruise journey was very pleasant as we came across various beautiful locations like Birrarung park, AAMI park, the MCG to name a few. We went shopping in the Queen Victoria Markets. We also visited the Royal Exhibition Centre at the Carlton Gardens.

We even went for a brief visit to the famous Flinders Street Station. It is a picturesque place, attracting many tourists visiting Australia. Federation square near the Flinders Street Station is also worth visiting as it has stunning architectural designs.  Melbourne is also known for serving one of the best coffees in the world. Their trademark coffee is the flat white coffee, a must try if you are visiting Melbourne. The National Gallery of Victoria, is where we visited next.

It is Australia’s oldest gallery and house to more than 70000 works. A day trip to Mornington Peninsula was our last stop before winding up our trip to Australia. It is a popular tourist attraction in Australia, which has people coming there for sight-seeing. It makes a picturesque background for all your perfect selfies. We also indulged in various water sport activities, besides sightseeing and enjoying the beauty of nature.

Wow, what an amazing and fulfilling Australian tour we had. Did everything one wishes to do on a foreign location, enjoying the beauty of nature and admiring the beauty of the country one is visiting. Well, now we are back into our routine life but Hey!
