Sweden visa for Indians

 

Sweden, the largest country in northern Europe has a varied landscape with pristine lakes, lush forests, and mountains with beautiful historical sights. Sweden is considered as the heaven for all the people out there who loves to get fascinated by the nature with clean air and water.

 

Indians intending to travel to Sweden needs to have a valid Sweden Visa for Indians based on the purpose of the travel whereas the applicants who travel to Sweden as a visitor when the sole purpose of the visit is tourism or to meet the family & friends in Sweden need to apply for Sweden Tourist Visa for Indians under the category of short term visa.

Types of Sweden Visa

 

  • Sweden Tourist Visa – When the applicant intends to visit Sweden for tourism purposes or to meet family & friends then they need to apply for a tourist visa. With a tourist visa, the maximum stay can be of 30 days or as mentioned on the visa.
  • Sweden Business Visa – When the applicant intends to attend business meetings, conferences, or seminars in Sweden they are required to apply for a business visa or short term visa. The validity of this visa can be of 90 days or as mentioned on the visa.

Is the visa for Sweden applied online?
No, the visa isn’t applied online however the applicant needs to fill the form online.
Is insurance mandatory before applying for the visa?
Yes, Insurance is a mandatory document. Insurance must have coverage of 30,000 Euros covering the entire stay in the Schengen areas.
Is confirmed air ticket mandatory for applying for the visa?
Yes, confirmed air tickets and internal travel tickets are required if traveling to other Schengen areas.
Do I need to visit the VFS center for the submission of the documents?
Yes, the applicant is required to visit the center as they are required to submit biometrics. However once submitted biometrics is valid for 59 months irrespective of the Schengen country for which you have submitted.
When is the earliest I can apply for the Sweden Visa?
Sweden’s visa can be applied 90 days before the intended date of travel.
My Passport is expiring in a few months can I apply for the Sweden Visa?
No, you cannot apply for the visa as the passport must be valid for 3 months from the intended date of exit from the Sweden /Schengen area.
Is there any express service facility available for Sweden Visa?
No, there is no express service facility for applying for a Sweden Visa hence the applicant is advised to apply at least 30 days before the intended date of travel.
Are the visa fees refunded if the visa gets rejected?
No, consulate fees, VFS logistic fees, and our service fees none of it is refunded in case of visa getting rejected.
How long can I stay in Sweden or any of the Schengen countries with a valid visa?
You can stay for a maximum of 30 days or as per the conditions mentioned on the visa.
Can I reapply for the Sweden visa if my visa gets rejected?
