How to apply for a New Zealand Tourist Visa?

• New Zealand Visa is a comparatively easy process if you have the proper knowledge of the details of applying for the visa. New Zealand visa is an online process but you need to visit the VFS center once for the verification of the Passport.

• There is no biometrics or submission of papers if you choose to apply for a completely online process.

Eligibility For Applying For New Zealand Tourist Visa

• You must hold a Passport with the validity of 6 months on arrival in New Zealand

• You must prove you are a genuine visitor and intend to leave at the end of your stay before the visa expires

• You need to prove you hold sufficient funds to manage your stay in New Zealand

• You must have a ticket to leave New Zealand or sponsor for onward travel

Procedure for applying for New Zealand Visa

• Since New Zealand Visa is an online process you need to have all the documents in the scanned format to upload it with your application. Scanned Documents must be in PDF & JPEG format as advised on the Visa website.

• Once you are ready to start with the online application form you need to be aware of the category to which you need to apply as the wrong selection of the category may lead to the rejection of an application.

• If the visit to New Zealand is either for tourism purposes or meeting family and friends you need to select the Visitor Visa category.

• You need to file one visa application if a family is traveling together consisting of a Husband, wife, and a minor or a dependent child below the age of 18, wherein the person who will be bearing all the expenses will be considered as a primary applicant.

• An application form will have all the personal details, employment details, financial details, family details, and travel plans of the primary applicant followed by the details of secondary applicants and medical history if any.

• It is not necessary to complete the entire process once you log in to the application you can save all the details and continue later.

• On completion of the online form with all the details, you need to upload the documents as per your application. On successful completion of the form and uploading of the documents, you will be guided for an online payment which can be made through Debit/Credit card for an amount of NZD 246. Fees paid will be only for the primary applicant. The secondary applicant doesn’t require any kind of payment. On completion of the payment, you need to download the Thankyou letter and payment receipt which has the application number as you need it for further reference as well as while visiting the VFS center.

• While visiting the VFS center you do not need to make an appointment instead visit the center in the next 2-3 days after submitting the online application. Till you don’t visit the VFS center the visa application process will not be started by the consulate.

• Documents you need to carry while visiting the VFS center will be the online generated payment receipt, Thank you letter, and all Original Passport and xerox copies of all the pages of the current Passport. At the center, they will be verifying the passport and scanning it again. Once the scanning process is completed at the center they will be collecting the xerox of the passport pages and returning all the passports.

• Once the process of submitting an online application and visiting the VFS center is done you need to wait for around 35- 45 days for the process to get completed. Visa received will be an E-Visa on the registered mail id.
