What documents required to travel Bhutan from India?

 

Indian nationals intending to travel Bhutan from India are required to carry any of the two valid “Travel Documents” (a) Valid Indian Passport having validity of minimum 6 months; and/ or (b) Voter Identity Card, issues by the Election Commission of India. No Visa is required to travel Bhutan from India by Indian nationals.

 

By Road :- Indian Citizen travelling to Bhutan from India by road are required to obtain an “Entry Permit” by producing valid “Travel Documents”  from the immigration office of Royal Government of the Bhutan at Phuentsholing, located at the Indo – Bhutan border opposite Jaigaon, West Bangal By Air :- Indians Travel Bhutan from India by Air must posses any one of the above mentioned Travel Documents, travellers will be issued with Entry Permit at the Paro International Airport. This Entry Permit allows an Indian tourist to visit Thimpu and Paro only. However, any tourist going beyond Thimpu and Paro need to acquire a “Special Area Permit” from the RGoB Immigration Office at Thimpu on any workding days (Monday to Friday).

Winters in Bhutan start from November to March. The minimum temperature goes upto -10 degress in and around Thimpu Valley. So, while visiting Bhutan during this period you need to carry heavy woollen cloths that should cover your full body. Summers start from April to June in Bhutan, summer seasons are very pleasant. Punkha Dzong

 

The Punkha Dzong, also known as Pungtang Dewa chhenbi Phodrang. It is the administrative centre of Punkha District, Bhutan Constructed by Neawang Namgyal, 1st Zhabdrung Rinponce, in 1637 -38, it is the second largest and second oldest dzong in the Bhutan and one of the most majestic structures.

Zuri Dzong Hike

 

Zuri Dzong Hike from the national museum in the Ta Dzong, take a leisurely 2 hour hike along the forested hillside to Zuri Dzong. The walk passes by Gonsaka Lhakhang and then Zuri Dzong and provides wonderful views down over the valley and Dzong.
